The first Fab Lab in Kazakhstan
On January 31, 2017, the first digital manufacturing laboratory Fab Lab in the Republic of Kazakhstan — Fab Lab Atyrau — was opened in the city of Atyrau.
What is Fab Lab Atyrau?
This is a space where young people get access to modern technologies to implement their ideas.
The lab is equipped with:
- ShopBot milling machine
- laser cutter
- vinyl cutter
- 3D printer
The opening was made possible thanks to the cooperation between Chevron, the Akimat of the Atyrau Region and the International Youth Foundation within the framework of the Zangar project, aimed at developing STEM education in the region.
